AI-Driven Digital Marketing

On this blog post, I am sharing with you a few questions and practical things I do when my ads are not working, or people are not just clicking.

Running Ads on Facebook and Instagram is not easy and it could be discouraging when you're investing your own money and you're seeing any return.

Sometimes all it takes is One Simple Tweak to turn a losing ad into a winner, a new picture, a different first sentence or headline.

What to do when you've launched your ad on FB or IG and people are not clicking?

Here's what I do before I take any action!

If it's been less than 24 hours, I keep the ads running to give them time for the platform to find the right people.

I let them run for 2-3 days before making any changes.

When you launch a Facebook Ad, it can take a few days until it starts showing to the right audience.

The First Metric To Check on Ads Manager

The first metric I look at is the (Click-through rate) which basically tells you if people are engaging with your images or videos.

If your click-through rate is below %0.7, then you will need to check if it's the creative. Maybe test a different image or video, or it could be the text on the ad, the copy.

When starting a new campaign on Facebook Ads, always try to test 2 or 3 creatives, mixing images with videos.

You never know which one will perform better so testing is very important when running new campaigns.

This One Metric tells you how many people clicked on your link and visited your website

It's called "Unique Outbound clicks", this metric counts how many people clicked the link on the ad to visit a specific URL.

When auditing your ads, it's important to know if what Facebook shows you matches with what you see on your website data.

If your cost per click is too on Facebook Ads, Here's what to check!

Before I share with you what I do to check if I'm paying too much per click, I would like to invite to answer this question.

How much are you willing to spend to get a lead or customer?

Knowing how much you are willing to pay per lead will help you when deciding if you should pause an ad or not.

Metrics to check when cost per click is too high

CPM - (Cost per a thousand impressions) How much Facebook is charging to show your ads to a thousand people.

What you pay per click will depend on how much is costing to show your ads to a thousand people.

Cost per click varies per industry and also how good the ad and copy is.

3 things you can do

1 - Try a new audience

2- Use a different image or video

3 - Change the text or the ad

A tip for you, cost per CPM tend to be high when you launch a new campaign because Facebook is still trying to figure out the right people to show the ads to.

Do This to improve a Facebook ad

that's not performing well!

Don't go and change everything at once or pause the ad.

Just change one thing at the time, maybe test a new image or video or change the first sentence.

To apply what I share on this post, all you need to do is open Ads Manager and follow the steps above.

I thope you got some value from this post, now you can go and use what I learned on your current or future ads.
